Our company was founded in 1984 during the liberalization of the communications sector that accompanied the spread of globalization.
We were founded on the belief that evolving forms of communication would soon significantly enrich people's lives, and even society itself.
Data communications over analog lines - before digital became universal - was then considered a great business opportunity, and companies competed to introduce the most advanced modem technologies with a focus on providing the highest-speeds of data transmission.
Modulation/demodulation technology enabled us to compete with our in-house development of modem technology. Since then, the liberalization of communication has led to increasingly advanced infrastructures and services, and we have continued to develop cutting-edge communications equipment in-house to meet the needs of a market that has advanced through the commercialization of digitization, ISDN networks and cellular phone technologies.
Later on, we received orders for the development of PHS communications equipment from DDI Pocket Inc., thus receiving an opportunity to apply our cultivated technical capabilities and experience. In 2001, that opportunity led to the development/sale of packet communication cards at 128 kbps, then was the world's highest speed (as of the release), for mobile communication, and the sales volume exceeded 1 million units as of August, 2005. In November, 2005, we succeeded in the achievement of the SIM of a PHS communication card, which had been considered to be impossible, by organizing conventional communications technology, thus contributing to enabling the proposal of a new mobile communication style.
In addition, in the home network field, we are proceeding with research and development, and the commercialization of the PLC (power line communication) which is expected to spread in the future.
The spirit of challenge that has always enabled us to develop leading-edge telecommunications equipment continues to infuse our corporate DNA, and in fact is strengthened with our name change and incorporation as a subsidiary of the Index Group. We will continue the exciting developments in mobile wireless communication and digital home network fields which are expected to show remarkable growth in the future.
